Whats your style of photography, what type of images do you identify with most?
Landscape and Travel are my passions because they take you away. Somewhere far from cubicles.
Who are the photographers influenced you?
Ansel Adams and all the badass female photographers of the Instagram community. @jdotwu for helping me pickup my first real camera canon s95 point and shoot and canon 70D , if it weren’t for her, I’d have no clue what buttons were for. @bxkiddo1 founder of @nyc_explorers whose innate talent and passion behind the lens is invigorating @daninyc who welcomed me to the community of feeds and meets. @jkhordi and @killahwave whose work constantly inspires me to go harder.
Do you think that photography is an art form?
Of Course ! Anything that can communicate thoughts and feelings unobtrusively for me is art.
What technology (camera) do you use?
Canon 70D, Sony A7IIr, Iphone 6s
What motivates you to continue taking pictures?
To find adventure whether big or small, new or old.
Which is your favorite lens?
Sony FE 24-70mm Why? Great versatile zoom lens for the streets of city.
What camera gear do you wish you had?
Dji Mavik drone and Super wide angle for the AR7 Why? Travel drone to light up the sky and I love super wide angles to make the world around us look even bigger
Do you use Adobe Lightroom for edits? If so what presets do you use? Your own or downloaded/purchased.
Yes just started a few months ago but I don’t use presets and mess with everything myself, leftover habits from PS I guess.
How do you educate yourself to take better pictures?
YouTube is a great resource, absorbing from friends and studying other people’s work.
Among your works, which one is your favorite? Why?
They are all my babies but my first long exposure is probably most dear to me. Not because it is amazing but because I was so excited to see a star trail!
What role has Instagram played in your photography/designs?
The gram constantly inspires. I find new places and meet new people and see new things.
What is the one thing you wish you knew when you started taking photos?
The journey through photography has been amazing, I wish to change nothing about it as I appreciate the journey for what it is. I think of all things I have loved in this lifetime that there is no better companion than the camera. I hope to die shooting.
What makes the good picture stand out from the average?
The subject, the place, the time, the message, the color, the light, the shadow, the composition, the movement.
What first drew you to photography?
I enjoy vintage photographs of New York and seeing the city change so drastically over the years made me think that if we don’t document this it won’t exist. New York neighborhoods and the people that live there make it magic.
When you are out shooting—how much of it is instinctual versus planned?
It is 50/50, you can never tell mother nature what to do, but you can stick your finger up in the air while tapping google maps furiously!
Where are you from, where do you live?
New York City.
